Not as wet as was forecast, but a time for transcribing my notes to the recipe sheets and going over these. Apparently we have both written and practical tests at the end of this week!
As well as the tranche de gigot for tomorrow (and a couple of lamb’s kidneys), I buy a couple of pintade legs for a version of Nigel Slater’s 30 (well, 35) minute roast chicken and stock up on wine from Vins d’Oc et Ailleurs as recommended by the Gastronomicom sommelier. J. and I went last weekend and we were provided with an excellent selection of Languedoc Roussillon wines based on a list of other wines we like (mostly Rhone Valley) and our food plans for the weekend. Same again this time! Definitely worth a visit.
Then mostly catching up on crosswords and reading. I hope the weather is better tomorrow for a beach visit or a cycle outing. It still seems too cold and windy for a dip in the pool, even if it is heated.
